Dental / Vision

Dental insurance is a product that is designed to reduce the financial risk associated with losses resulting from dental treatments.  Dental insurance typically covers preventative care, basic care, major care, and orthodontia.

Preventative Dental Care: covers routine exam, cleaning, fluoride, and x-rays.  Most policies will allow an individual to use this benefit once every six months.

Basic Care: typically covers tooth extractions and periodontics.  A calendar year deductible and waiting period usually apply before this benefit will be paid.

Major Medical Care: covers major dental services such as endodontics (root canals), dentures, crowns, bridges, etc…. Most policies will require an individual to meet a calendar year deductible and waiting period before these types of services are covered.

Orthodontia: covers orthodontic services including braces, retainers, etc…. Some plans offer this benefit as insurance with a waiting period and other policies offer this benefit at a discount without a waiting period.  Most insurance companies require that you use their in-network orthodontists to get this benefit.
